As archives are documents that enable us to remember, I gravitate to my family’s archive and create new ones to use in my work. Being a collector of objects, both inherited and found, I anchor my practice in transforming them, their meaning and their impact.
Repetition occurs frequently in my work, through collecting, unraveling, wrapping, or appropriating. In practice and in process, my work engages with the ways in which we consume, the multiple facets of femininity, and the preservation / deterioration of objects, stories, and ideas.
It’s within these objects that we choose to preserve, alter or completely reimagine that I find my inspiration.
