Walter and Willow

installation view of Walter and Willow

installation view of Walter and Willow at Maison de la culture Mercier, Montreal, 2015

For the past year I’ve been working on an installation project, where I wanted to re-create my great aunt and uncle’s living room. The point of creating their early 1980s space was because I first wanted to host a slideshow night. I’ve been working with Walter and Willow’s visual archive for the past 10 years but it was publishing my Walter & Willow book in 2014 that the installation project was conceptualized.  The image above is from my latest exhibit, where I invited the viewers to sit on the furniture and watch Walter and Willow’s slides, an eclectic series of photographs from hunting and fishing, their community and their various organized trips they took. Check out all of Walter and Willow’s visual archive.
